Reducing Agent is a commonly used water treatment chemical for the pre-treatment stage of reverse osmosis (RO) systems. Its main function is to reduce free chlorine levels in inlet water and mitigate the risk of oxidative damage to membrane elements. The effective scope of action depends on the product's active components and water quality conditions. Dosing plans shall be determined by inlet free chlorine concentration, treatment flow rate, active components of the chemical and system operating conditions, and verified via on-site free chlorine testing.
